A St Patrick’s Day Celebration to Remember

Last night’s live stream from Dublin was a true Folkscape highlight. The Irish House Party delivered an unforgettable night of music, dance and pure Irish soul, broadcast straight into the homes of our subscribers on St Patrick’s Day.

From the very first note to the final applause the show radiated warmth, energy and that unmistakable magic of a real Irish session.

The band shone brightly all evening with Gerry Nolan, Declan Quinn and Colm Keane each taking turns to lead songs bringing their own unique flair to every performance. From Gerry’s steady and heartfelt vocals to Colm’s soulful delivery to Declan’s playful and humorous numbers their individual styles blended beautifully creating a seamless and captivating night of music.

The absolute standout was their rousing rendition of Wild Rover. It was a true St Patrick’s Day moment with everyone in the Dublin audience singing along at the top of their lungs and folks at home joining in too. The room was alive with energy laughter and the joy of shared tradition.

Declan also treated us to an entertaining a cappella version of Johnny be Fine which had the audience in stitches showing off his flair for both music and humour. Alongside this his flute and whistle playing throughout the evening was rich with character and charm.

Gerry’s guitar provided the heartbeat of the night while his vocals anchored many of the songs with warmth and sincerity. Colm’s fiddle work and vocals added energy and colour weaving through each performance with style and passion.

Ciara Kennedy lit up the stage with her dancing. Her sharp expressive footwork was simply mesmerising lifting the energy of the room and perfectly complementing the music.

The Irish House Party reminded us all why Irish music and dance are loved the world over. It was a celebration packed with heart humour and exceptional talent. A St Patrick’s Day to remember.

We are still humming Wild Rover today and smiling at the memories.
